It seems like between different ATF the biggest factor other than viscosity is the friction characteristic. Assuming all else (seal compatibility, viscosity / plumbability, oxidation / nitration resistance, detergency, etc) are all good enough and can be made universal as a Jack of All Trade ATF.
How do we know the friction property of an ATF is good enough for a particular transmission or in place of a particular ATF?
Is there any test result of universal / aftermarket ATF vs OEM spec ATF in any particular transmission or clutch pack material setup?
