that is a champ built “fram”. check them before purchasing. easier to go to AAP or OR for a carquest premium or Microgard select.
Yup, sticking with Carquest from here on out!
Even if I don't use it, I came out okay with the oil and cabin filter.

i think you can return the filter and get some money back still on bundles IIRC
I bought one once for a FL-820-S equivelant. It was much shorter, which did not impress me. I don't plan to ever buy another one.

If you go back to Autozone and you speak with a rep that will listen , then just ask them to check a few others of the same model # for an Asian made filter then just exchange for that one.
I got one of these also in Fram orange. Only complaint is that that recessed thread/plate takes up what could have been used as filter area. Paid premium bucks for a PH8170 "mower filter" when I could have used an ordinary 3/4" thread car filter (PH3614) for a third the price. You never know what you're going to get these days. The PH8172's (slightly longer) I purchased recently were made in China, they look pretty robust. I don't hate any of these filters, jury is still out until I take them apart.
I don't see any cause for concern.

Hate to break it to everyone but AC DELCO factory filters and others I’ve saw at work have same baseplate. No big deal.
The exterior plate has/had a purpose, used for alignment.

Return it, try different autozone until you get one with plastic wrap or just get Carquest
