Yup, sticking with Carquest from here on out!that is a champ built “fram”. check them before purchasing. easier to go to AAP or OR for a carquest premium or Microgard select.
i think you can return the filter and get some money back still on bundles IIRCYup, sticking with Carquest from here on out!
Even if I don't use it, I came out okay with the oil and cabin filter.

I don't see any cause for concern.I'm very leery of using this filter.

Hate to break it to everyone but AC DELCO factory filters and others I’ve saw at work have same baseplate. No big deal.Bought an oil deal at AutoZone with the STP XL, thinking it was a Premium Guard filter. This filter has louvers and I've never seen a filter with the threads so recessed, relative to the gasket. I'm very leery of using this filter.

When the very first E-Cores came out in 2004, they did not have it. The extra plate was added pretty quick and explained from the then Champ Labs rep as a response to the oil change industry to allow the lube techs to better center the outlet hole and start the thread on to the oil filter base. Without the extra plate, the exposed tapping plate is more concave and made centering more difficult in remote reach install applications.Does anyone know why ACD filters have that to begin with?
I can see that here:The exterior plate has/had a purpose, used for alignment.
It’s long gone…this thread is three months old.Return it, try different autozone until you get one with plastic wrap or just get Carquest
