I have a 2006 Ridgeline RTL (bought in 2005), one of the first on the road, now with about 207,000 miles. It's the only vehicle I have owned that I don't want to part with because I would just look for another exactly like this one. (By the way, I bought my first auto in 1962, so I've owned many.) I still love it.
I am in the timber business so truck has not only many highway miles, but has served me in extensive offroad applications. I'm not looking to incite any controversy, but I can report that a couple of American brand trucks (which I respect) have literally lost bumpers and other parts trying to follow me through flooded ditches and up steep banks while evaluating tracts of timber in Georgia.
For me, it has been about as good a combination of refined highway comfort/convenience and off road dependability and toughness as I could expect anything to have. The in-bed trunk especially separates it from other vehicles.
In this forum and in conversations with other owners I hear about a wide disparity of fuel mileage. Mine has always gotten about 20 - 21 mpg on highway driving 65-70 mph. I have no explanation for why a few report 15-16 mpg unless it's including in town driving or driving at faster highway speeds.
I have been pretty diligent about following Honda recommended maintenance schedules and I have not tried to skimp by skipping items to get by with only oil/filter change.
Last week my engine light came on and I think it may be related to catalytic converter. Tomorrow I'll have Honda check the codes. That's probably the worst thing I can report in over 205,000 miles.
Amazingly, when I look at new Ridgelines at a Honda dealership, I see no discernible differences to the exterior and even when peeking through the windows, it's hard to even spot cosmetic differences to the interior.
