Any hard core coffee drinkers?

Well it's late December and the places I get coffee are priced about the same but they are still saying the price is going to go up over the next year.
Yeah, I don't think the premise of this thread aged well. Coffee at Costco...whole bean Peets, Starbucks and Costco Kirkland are all the same price they were 6-10 months ago.

I picked up a bag of this yesterday and just brewed it up pour over style. If you prefer a light roast then this might be one to check out.

A really nice cup. Full body. A bit fruity. A real nice taste.

I do see a few I would try. As far as light to light medium roasts you have to have a really good bean to pull that off that is why you see so many places roast beans darker.

Thanks for the link!

I am typically a dark roast person but more and more I am leaning to lighter roasts. They seem to work better with the pour over method.

I am fortunate because it’s only a fifteen minute drive to their main roasting facility and they have a store inside.

Ever since I came to Wisconsin 4 years ago I have been drinking Humble Habits Coffee that is offered by the monks at Holy Resurrection Monastery in Saint Nazianz, Wisconsin. It is legitimately great coffee and the proceeds go to support a good cause. If you like to stock up they have 5 lb bags of whole beans or ground coffee.

I kind of like 8 o’ clock Colombian with some Kirkland decaf mixed.

Came in the mail today. Going to make some Mocha Java by mixing these.

I dropped 500$ but it was on 66lb of Green (unroasted) specialty bolivian peaberry beans (includes 62$ shipping)

I roast it and give away aprox half of it. so it lasts about 12-16month usually.

Roasted coffee doesnt age great.. and roasted and ground coffee is even worse.

I think if I wanted to stock up on roasted store bought.. I'd buy about 8 of the big bags of whole bean at costco.. but more than that.. no way.

fyi storing in freezer or fridge isnt great.
the temp change is not good for moisture.. which is bad for coffee.
Try GREAT VALUE Columbian Blend, not expensive and it will awaken the dead !!

You won't regret it!

Make sure and follow the instructions for cleaning, no vinegar, here is what I use every 100 cups on mine, five years and no issues.

Paid $225 for a brand new CDGT 40oz. with Thermal Carafe. It arrives today or tomorrow. Which is a bargain.
I use powdered citric acid to clean and descale. Bought a 5lb. bag from Amazon:
Relative Foods, food grade citric acid, 5 pounds packaged in our allergen free facility, heavy duty stand up pouch with resealable zipper. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CM8F4C...abc_NBVFK35GKMFQ58R4CGKC?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

2-3 tablespoons in warm water and brew it part way, then shut it off and let it sit for 30 minutes or so. Then rinse with 2 more pots of fresh water. To clean the thermal carafe I boil enough water to fill the carafe and put a dishwasher tab in it and let it sit for an hour and rinse thoroughly. Looks like new when I'm done.
I currently have two Motif Essential coffee makers...one for each house. They are rebadged Melittas. They brew to SCA Golden Cup standards and they brew excellent coffee. One will become a spare. I started using the Baratza Encore which had been sitting new int the box in my garage for 2 years. It is a fantastic grinder. But a Moccamaster is the Holy Grail of coffee makers for me!
