The Clenzoil CLP gets good reviews - has anybody used it and if so what were your thoughts ? Clenzoil is priced well and is on my short list (along with G96) to try.

Can't comment on Clenzoil but I am a long time user of G-96. For decades, it has protected my firearms from rust. After cleaning with Hoppes and maybe a barrel scrubber, I always finish the job with a patch soaked in G-96. I also apply it to a soft cloth and wipe down the exterior metal surfaces before putting the firearm in storage. I highly recommend this product.

I’ve got a cleaning kit in my car in Colorado, made by Clenzoil, bought at a local gun store. Seems to work just fine, but I only use it on a Glock, and I reckon that gun will run with just about anything.

I've had a couple of bottles over the past 15 years or so, no complaints and appears to be an effective protectant. Unique smell. I tend to use it on my o/u's more than other firearms.

I have used it....decent cleaning ability. it contains turpentine and smells like pinesol

Most CLP’s will work good except copper fouling ime. When I started running large round count monthly, I used a variant of Ed’s red for carbon cleanup, Motor oil in a hobby bottle with a small tip applicator for lube, and Butch’s bore shine for copper fouling.
Kroil works good too for cleaning.

I've never been too much of a, "CLP guy". Mostly because I like having multiple specialized products to perform various cleaning, lubricating, and protection functions on my guns. Instead of using an "all in one" product for everything.

You have to remember that CLP was initially developed for the military. So a combat soldier could carry one single product to keep their weapon up and running in the field.

The hunter or recreational target shooter can have several specialized products, that will offer better performance for each task at hand. A cleaner for cleaning. A lubrication product for exactly that. And a protectant that will offer the best rust and corrosion protection.

This is not saying that CLP is "bad". It most certainly isn't. But firearms are better served by using different products to enhance what the shooter is trying to achieve in the best possible way. That said, it certainly isn't going to hurt having a bottle of the CLP of your choice in your range bag.

I like Hoppes line of cleaners , there are a host of good lubes and for protection I like Eezox with Corrosisn X and Barracade being strong protectants as well.
