Another which gas station do you pick?

I always buy gas in nicer neighborhoods that are not sketchy.

I don’t care about silly TT gas or getting the lowest price.

Same for when I’m traveling of of state, I will not stop in trashy areas just to save $2 per tank of gas….

I guess things are different up here. You will not find stations in the same area with different pricing. They move in lockstep.

The old-fashioned corner gas station is a thing of the past too. They are almost all corporate stations. I’m comfortable buying anywhere, though I try to go to the co-op stations when it’s convenient, since I get a rebate annually.

You also cannot buy ethanol free gas in Canada anymore.

Gentlemen and Ladies - "Fungible" is the tern to understand about the gasoline used to fill the big tanks at gas stations. In other words, "It is all the same" and for the most part the tanks are filled by a 3rd party middleman. The idea only Chevron fuel goes into the tanks at Chevron gas stations is a misnomer. The tanks will be filled with a "Fungible" fuel, and then a Chevron additive package will be added to the fuel assuming those working at the gas station are doing their jobs. There is only 1 Oil Company that does not use "Fungible" base fuels. That uses only its own refined fuels from 100% Saudi Arabian Light Sweet Crude - and that is Shell Oil Co. And why it costs more. Unless that has recently changed, that's how the gasoline works to fuel your vehicles.

When to Tom Thumb for gas today and zero interest to look at the prices.

I need gas regardless of the price….

Or silly TT gas advertising….

Cenex is the only gas I run.

While I often run Kwik Trip E0 premium, there's a Cenex in our town that sells 87 octane E0. It's perfect for my small engine equipment without having to waste money on premium for a lawn mower. On top of that, I recently discovered that the Cenex in the town over seems to sell E0 premium for almost 60 cents less than ANY other station on any given day. I'll happily make the 7 minute drive to save $8+ per tank.
