Another leaking bypass valve

I bought a case of these filters on eBay thinking they were made by premium Guard. Unfortunately They are not. I've cut 2 open and they look well made except for this.

Guess I throw them away.

The question is how much oil will go through that little opening vs going through the media, my guess would be a fairly small (insignificant) amount.

Mmmph, dealing with the filter canister properly on the Camrys is a PITN over a spin-on. But I'd just as soon let Toyota deal with ADB check valves than some bargain rate disposable made dog knows where. I buy the easiest/cheapest 0W20 and change when the car nags me which is 5OOOmiles/1 yr and dont' worry about variable valve issues or gunky rings.

Gap is .005 measured with a feeler guage
