Looks larger than that in the middle. The steel stamping isn't good, not allowing the spring to fully seat the disk. Cheap production quality. On a positive note look at that steel flatness

I will look into that in the morning. I believe the valve is hard plastic and it's hitting the support that holds the spring.Wonder if that's something that would wear in once the rubber gets hot oil on it.
I was being facetious. But indeed low rufflesLooks larger than that in the middle. The steel stamping isn't good, not allowing the spring to fully seat the disk. Cheap production quality.
Doubtful as I have cut 2 open nowMy condolences... Thanks for posting your find. Isn't this something? I suppose not worth the return?
Lot Failed QC destructive test. Return it or ask for refund.Doubtful as I have cut 2 open now
The first one was smashed in the mail so I cut it open. Thought maybe it's leaky valve was caused by the damage so I cut open a good looking oneLot Failed QC destructive test. Return it or ask for refund.
Oh, is the other one bad also? Guessing it would be.
Back in 2014 a one dollar factory installed china filter blew up my otherwise perfectly fine Nissan Versa Note with a 5 speed,. Really mad about that.
And what did you see, my good man?The first one was smashed in the mail so I cut it open. Thought maybe it's leaky valve was caused by the damage so I cut open a good looking one
The currant pic is the unsmashed one.its junk too.And what did you see, my good man?
Just. Wow.The currant pic is the unsmashed one.nits junk too.
Update: the valve is hard plastic and is installed upside down in both filters. Since there is nodway of knowing which are ok and what are not looks like I have targets to shoot at.
The plastic valve has a step that would seal the hole if installed correctly.

I don't know if your post came across clearly. I see a ridge 0-0 just at the base of the portion that inserts in the center tube.Looks larger than that in the middle. The steel stamping isn't good, not allowing the spring to fully seat the disk. Cheap production quality.
“ PULL !”I'm thinking these were defective and caught by qc. Somehow they ended up on eBay.
I can't use them in good faith knowing what I found . Figure an hour of my pay at work thrown away
The disc is installed upside down. That ridge fits perfectly in the hole and would block it if installed correctly.I don't know if your post came across clearly. I see a ridge 0-0 just at the base of the portion that inserts in the center tube.
You don't think that having the oil go through there would push the disc up more and open the hole up even more? The question is how much oil will go through that little opening vs going through the media, my guess would be a fairly small (insignificant) amount.
Not really, the spring won’t open until a preset PSI range. You don't think that having the oil go through there would push the disc up more and open the hole up even more?
I would contact manufacturer and see whats up.The disc is installed upside down. That ridge fits perfectly in the hole and would block it if installed correctly.
