It is kinda scary to firm up the shifts because it puts way way more stress on the transmission . That is why the computer retards the timing between shifts ,it is fairly common in many brands to ease the stress on the under built transmissions in todays cars.

the retard of timing is torgue managment. soft shifts kill trannies from my understanding of what comprises a soft shift... sc cuts the tq Mangament so the firmer shift is enabled. with the 545rfe or 45rfe the tq managment causes trans pressure fluxes when its disabled. the shift kit is the best thing to help this out...
