I know there is nothing I can do about this, but I just wanted to post my recent findings with Amsoils ADBV in a SDF 11.
I have a '97 F-150 4.6l with the stock remote filter. I used a Fram once (because that's all I could get at the time) and found a terrible ticking noise upon start up due to the lack of a ADBV. I have never experienced this with the Motorcraft filters. I recently switched to Amsoil & am also using their filter. I, once again, am hearing the ticking noise with a cold start. Obviously the ADBV is not working. I'm planning on changing this filter around 5,000 to 7,500 miles. I'm hoping the next filter doesn't do this also.
I imagine if I want to continue using Amsoil's filter I 'll need to remount the relocation kit so the filter is vertical.
