Now that it has been a bit colder here in WNY, I have had my '24 Tahoe sit for a few days to a week period. Curious to hear how fast or slow it cranks in these most recent -1 F to 5 F days, I've popped my head out the window to listen when I hit the remote start.
Past few cold starts I have heard a tick that goes away within a couple of seconds. This has got me thinking if the ADBV in the ACDelco UPF63R (black so figuring nitrile) is not sealing/allowing leak after extended periods of sitting. Hot or recent restart (even if cold... after say 8 hours) -- nothing at all.
So perhaps for silicon ADBV I will wing a MicroGard Select MSL10255, Carquest Premium 84502 or NAPA Gold 100255 on it and observe? I can get the NAPA Gold the cheapest locally for under $7. FWIW, I have been slapping on MSL51522s on the '05 Burb and '05 2500HD without any reservations for a while now.
What are some general thoughts on this? Not jumping to conclusions but also not wanting to ignore. Whilst not "gods gift of filters" I had been pleased with the UPF63R being an OE part, OK enough construction with the ones I've opened and grabbing the 12-filter cases on that past Amazon deal for $20/case... figured they'd be more than serviceable. Perhaps proof is in the pudding.
