And if majority Group III product is just as good as a majority PAO why doesn't Amsoil convert all their oils over instead of just the XL line. What about EOM D1 and MC oils?

My point is that Group III products are good enough for 99% of syn oil users who follow OEM drain intervals.
Amsoil's super-duper long drain oils are targeted toward a difference audience than their XL line-up. Their super oils use better additive packages and base oils to justify their long(er) drain interval and higher price.
But if you just change your oil at the recommended intervals, I highly doubt you'll notice the performance difference between the two, but I do recognize that it exists to some degree.
