Amsoil Engine Tear Down Pics

I would be careful would making conclusions off just top-end condition with very extended oci's. I have seen heads that looked clean with extended oci's but the pistons being pretty gruesome on teardown.
Not in service, but a pretty demanding test.

Deposits. By weight, and some wear factor. I'm not sure how much build up is allowed per Sequence IIIH Engine Test (ASTM D8111)
rest assured Amsoil advertising and SAE testing methods are 2 different things..

It's a standardized test and their claim is pertaining to that test, I don't see how those could be two different things. This is not precedent setting, many blenders make claims pertaining to specific API sequences and how their performance is x amount better than the limit.

yeah, they all make claims.. Amsoil just seems to be more patently over the top with their claims than some of the others.
Lets face it, Amsoil has their fan base and no amount of evidence to the contrary will change their mind,

You seem quite intent on getting us to “face” things for which you’ve offered no proof they are false or misleading.

But you haven't presented any evidence to the contrary, you've made an intentionally inflammatory remark about this specific claim and asked us all to take your word for it, which, to be blunt, isn't happening.

If you've got something that objectively proves that AMSOIL is fudging the data or outright deceiving people, we'd all love to see it, but as it stands you've basically just accused them of fraudulent marketing practices and expect that to just stand without question and that's not how things are done here.

Why would I rest assured? Do you know this and how?
mostly because if Amsoil actually did the testing in a certified test facility, they could actually print those test certification on their labeling and they are noticeably absent... :) you'll notice most of their claims aren't really backed up by the certifications to prove it... since the certification process is lengthy and costly, it means they aren't doing the testing in the prescribed manner. Kind of like factory tow ratings... up until the SAE came up with a standard protocol, tow rating where subjective... but once the playing field was described as a process, the tow ratings became very specific. Same applies here. Do you want to believe Amsoil and take their word for it. I mean, they chage 50 bucks a gallon for motor oil, but tend to ask you to take their word for it.

my take on them anyway.

You do know that AMSOIL offers two lower priced fully approved lines of oils, right?

Yeah I guess to me you just come off as being upset about the cost or claims of some brands such as Amsoil or HPL, and you have already noted this multiple times in other threads. Perhaps it’s just your mission since joining, I don’t know.
