Very good, Thanks. After drying it out it gives a better deeper look into the filter build up debris. Is the black debris that's in the creases the glue or carbon or both?

The stuff in the pleats was pretty crumbly (Official Technical Term)

The piece that I now believe to be glue is not.
 
One interesting finding, circled in red, a shiny fleck.
It's on the larger side, but shiny metal flakes in oil filters is normal. I have shared my observation here before about metal flakes in oil filters. I've never cut a single engine oil filter that didn't have lots of little metal flakes. Pull the media out tight in the bright sun and you'll see that it's true.
