Oil changed at 56,305 miles
Filter changed at 60941 miles

I strained the oil left in the can through a coffee filter. Filter element is currently wrapped with a second wrapping paper towels.

Found a couple interesting pieces. They're pretty hard and tricky to get a picture of.

Interesting piece of metal on the magnet. It's really neat to see a filter looked over here. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Do you plan to re-run HPL and if so go longer next time?

No magnets, IMG 9987 is just super zoomed on some tweezers.

Yes, planning to run HPL for the rest of it's life. We'll work up on the oil changes. I did not change the oil, only the filter at this time.

Once some more oil wicks off the element, I'll break it apart.

I'm half blind o_O

Thanks for clearing all that up. Forgot to ask. Did an Amsoil filter go back on the vehicle?

All good.

Yes, another EA15K50 went back on. Amsoil doesn’t list this filter for this engine but it should be good media (even if it’s not good gluing) and I’m not trying to run it 25k.

Next filter will likely be a Fram Endurance. Still debating between the FE10060 or the FE2.

Thanks for that information. Run both cut them open & then make a decision based on what you feel you're getting for your money. I'm sure you can't lose either way. Both great choices!

Very nice pics. What oil and filter went back in/on?

Thank You sir

Is this for the RAM? I assume it is, but wanted to double-check. If so, you got a lot less material out of yours than I did, lol.
Yes, it’s from the Ram.

What mileage did you make the switch?

I’ll keep cutting filters for a bit to see if anything comes out over the next 15k.

Filter was close enough to done wicking.

I regret not going this deep with the Fram Ultra from the last change that had Pennzoil Platinum run through it.

One interesting finding, circled in red, a shiny fleck.

Inside the pleats all looked the same with approximately the same amount of hard black stuff. I'm convinced that the original pieces that I highlighted above is glue. The gluing is so sloppy on this premium filter.
