Maybe stupid question but why does a jug of AMSOIL come with 4 quarts instead of 5 quarts? I have to buy an extra bottle to make it 5 quarts . Why are they this way? It's not obvious to me. Thank you,
Because you should buying a drum of oil anyway. Why are they this way?
Agree. I think they probably think it hides the sticker shock a little because you can't make apples to apples comparisons.I have always suspected that it is an attempt to somewhat disguise the high price the premium motor oil.
No. It’s been considered but I guess they still stick with the old gallon containers for sku and gallon multi pack reasons. Just rooted in the old. Not some silly trick thingAgree. I think they probably think it hides the sticker shock a little because you can't make apples to apples comparisons.

I know the answer to your question, and I would like to post what I know, but I need Pablo to be ok with letting me answer your question. I get a really good discount on the Amsoil that I purchase, and I really need to keep that discount. The discount is more important than what I know.but why does a jug of AMSOIL come with 4 quarts instead of 5 quarts?
No need to jeprodize that discount. There are no stupid questions on this Forum!

AMSOIL has over a thousand unique SKUs/products. They could easily make the switch if they wanted to. I'm not saying the decision was fully nefarious. I know it would be a big capital expenditure, so they probably just decided it wasn't worth it for whatever gain there may be for them, but it probably does help with sticker shock since a lot of people compare prices using 5 qt jugs, and they probably didn't mind that it was a nice side effect of usingNo. It’s been considered but I guess they still stick with the old gallon containers for sku and gallon multi pack reasons. What are you hoping a $30 used oil analysis will show you that would convince you either one is the superior oil?We will use AMSOIL lab testing and compare Mobil 1 Extended Performance with AMSOIL Signature Series.
Probably filling and selling gallon singles is not a huge deal. They have been asked in the Dealer magazine, and they don't rule it out. But then they may just stop there - what I mean by this is they sell 4 gallon cases, now would they sell 4 - 5 qt cases too? Maybe, because that is perhaps how they would ship to all the warehouses. So the SKU # really goes up.AMSOIL has over a thousand unique SKUs/products. They could easily make the switch if they wanted to. I'm not saying the decision was fully nefarious. I have an idea , more than faith, that I can pull off 10k miles with better numbers with AMSOIL. We shall see. I have 2 basic engines naturally aspirated that should provide evidence one way or another, so I am now able to get access to AMSOIL and their lab testing provisions. Let's find out. What are you hoping a $30 used oil analysis will show you that would convince you either one is the superior oil?
You've been here 13 years. I think you know that by now.
