Ammo Costs

Good ammo, a little hot and I prefer 124gr in 9mm too, roll my own for the past 14 years. Dunno how longer thou due to lack of primers for sale and left with just 3K SPPs after loading 2K rounds last weekend. Well, at least I'm still enjoying ~17c (US ~12c) a round ammo.

I always used to get my Ammo from targetsportsusa.com bc of free shipping. Their prices now suck. Lately I go through ammoseek. Shipping and handling costs are like 50%. Any solutions? I may wind up buying 6K rounds for free shipping.
There's a trick to using Ammoseek. Not complicated, for sure. You gotta check back frequently. Use the exact same search string until you find the price you're happy with. I just found 1000 rounds of American made brass ammo from CCI, 45 caliber, for $400 including ship. Price popped up out of nowhere after a couple of weeks of looking.

Back around 2018, factory loaded ammo became so cheap that complete 9 mm FMJ ammo was cheaper than the cost of components and powder to reload. And 22 LR bulk ammo was down to around 4 cents a round. I stocked up then. Additionally, at that time, I was able to find discounted Cabela gift cards on eBay.

I have so much, I give some away to friends as gifts.

Remington's bankruptcy took some supply off the market. Their facilities are running again, but there are fewer manufacturing competitors in the market. A lot of the European ammo is better priced, but avoid the Russian stuff, for numerous reasons.

Question: Fiocchi. Sounds like high quality Italian made ammo, right? Where is that made?

Number 2: Who makes ammo with the Sig brand on the box?

Bud's will ship 10 (50 round) boxes of 9mm ammo to me for $14.25 insured. Understand that I am only 400 miles from them, so it very well could be different, if you are 1500 miles away from them in Gallup, NM.

When each box of ammo is $4-$5 a box cheaper than *anything* that I can source locally, that $1.42 extra per box for shipping tends to disappear quickly.

Ammo prices have been really dropping but alas the places that have the best deals, seem to charge huge amounts of shipping cost.
Well I am in Florida in one of the corners of the US so they are likely across the country.

Like Astro, I stocked up pre-2019 and haven't touched it since. Might be time to start buying again? where did the $20 bricks go? I saw Blazer for $40 per, ouch, at a semi-local store. Automatch might be cheaper at $25 or so per box.

I should look into components though. Primers and bullets. Wonder if their prices have stabilized?

I'm sure or I wouldn't be gettting emails emails almost daily for great deals on ammo. Seeing 9 mm under 12 a box

PSA owns a newer Ammo plant from what I've heard, keep an eye on them too. Last week bought PSA AAC 5.56 $7.99 and one way or another they shipped the whole order free.

i don't shoot factory ammo ,but i bought some spp primers for 7 cents each delivered last week. bought 5k. even though 9mm is coming down , its still about 25 to 30 cents after shipping and tax. even with a 124 fmj bullet i am around 19 cents a round. i have close to 20k 9mm brass .

last time i bought primers was right before the craziness started in 2019 . i paid 3.5 cents per back then. i think when primers come back the new normal will be around 5 cents each . 9mm bullets are pretty much back to normal pre 2019 prices
