Well, I can’t help you overcome your fears.Crashes notwithstanding, lots of these ev's are bursting into flames curbside while parked or like in the video, while charging. I'd always have that fear in the back of my mind when I went to bed at night.
But the statistics simply don’t support them.

There are over 100,000 vehicle fires each year. They’re nearly all gasoline.
100,000 gasoline fires happen every year, in garages, spontaneously on the road, and as a result of collision, and rarely make big news, because gasoline fires are everyday occurrences.
But EV fires sell clickbait (masquerading as journalism), fuel conspiracy and support agendas.
