Bull comes from both ends of the spectrum. It comes from Prosecutors just as bad as from any Attorney. Anybody that tells me anything different is fooling themselves.

Most of us don't understand the "adversarial" justice system. We're mostly convinced that there's a "reasonable" outcome desired by the state ...that justice will be served, so to speak. While the end result "may" be just, the mechanism to achieve that just end is ruthless.

You have two participants grandstanding their role "in the round" of a performance. The jurors are the critical audience ..the judge the referee/censor in the show/competition.

Beyond the rather static and apparently one dimensional (only apparently) "rule of law" ...it's a no holds barred event that is mostly devoid of compassion. If there is any such compassion in it, it is in the level of punishment assessed ..not whether punishment is deserved.

It's very much like filing a grievance or having some discipline taken against a union member in a union shop. You may win, but you'll lose for the winning. There will be a penalty just for being enough of a spectacle to warrant review and adjudication.

This is why you see max penalties so high and the typical sentence handed out as so relatively low. It's much easier to get concession when staring down a barrel of a gun. They always have the option of putting it back in the holster.

I've kept up with this case and have watched all of the 48 Hrs. Mystery episodes that looks at the case from all angles. I have no clue how they found her guilty. No clue. The evidence against her and the putrid police work should have ensured that she never even made it to trial. I guess things are done differently in Italy.

Rudy Guede is the one guilty. His DNA was found inside her (rape) and his bloody shoeprint was left at the crime scene. How in the flippin hades the Italian police can somehow say that it was some sort of three way satanic ritualistic killing is beyond me. There's zero evidence to support that proposterous theory.

Yes these are some of the reasons I have strong doubts. But people like to believe if it get's to a trial they must guilty.

Knox and her (white) boyfriend are sociopaths. They follows the profile to a T. I am not saying they had evidence against her or that she did it. I am just saying they are both sociopaths.

As for how they could find her guilty, I don't know: I did not watch the case. I do not understand how Scott Peterson was convicted of Murder. They proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was a lying narcissistic sack of dung, but they had no evidence that he actually committed the murder. All the evidence was emotional. I am not saying he did not do it, Just that the didn't have the evidence.

I will be interested to see how this plays for Knox's appeals. Surely their lawyers will be all over it.

This would be enough for a retrial in the U.S.

I am sure the Italian legal system is not up the the US system, and US system scares me in and of itself.

Not saying she did not do it.......I must say if I was in her position I don't think I would ever give a photographer a chance to take a pic of me laughing or smiling in a picture. Actually I was accused of molesting my Daughter by my lovely EX many years ago. So it was kind of similar situation that i thought could give me hard time in more ways than one. I will be rescuing her by repairing her car in another state tomorrow. Sounds like her alternator is toast. She is 24 now, and I love her very much.
She just got a Head coaching job for Lacrosse today....

They could both be living in La La land. But that does not make them automatically guilty.

To be blunt, I've read your previous accounts and I have every sympathy for you, but you are a sucker if you help her.

Consider this advice to be coming from a friend.

Help who? His daughter, ex-wife, or Amanda Fox?

Agreed. Kindness is in your heart. Dispensing it may or may not bear fruit. Sure it will be taken advantage of from time to time. Once and a while you get lucky and it pays off. Otherwise, write it off to your inability to NOT be kind.

We know what she was accused and convicted of. By most non-continental standards she would not have been found guilty. The judge seemed corrupt ..at least he's been convicted of it, so we're also prone to conclude that this conviction could have been "self serving" and that justice was not served ..even with some speecy-spicy added to it.

Ah ..followed the train. Got it. Still ...

my youngest and I are "closely estranged". She finds me annoying. Not that she doesn't love me as her father, but really doesn't relate well to me.

She still needs me from time to time. Many times. I'm still her father and do what I think I should. Do I make her listen to the geezer and suffer in rhetorical agony? You betcha!

If she claimed you molestered her to potentially put you in jail for a long time and prevent you from seeing your family, you may feel differently. If Oilboy can overlook that and do grunt mechanic work for her, he is a fool.
