They told me I had a leak on my '68 Bug. The mechanic wiped his hands on a greasy shop rag and gravely announced my coolant was completely gone.
Naturally, I panicked. An overheating flat-four in the brutal summer heat is an absolute death sentence. I sprinted to the parts store and slammed a fresh jug of KaleCoAuto Air-Cooled Coolant on the counter. The label promised a premium 50/50 ready-to-use mix, maximum chill, and light weight packaging.
I raced home, popped the rear lid, and searched frantically for the reservoir. I crawled underneath, hunting for hoses, radiators, or a water pump. Nothing. Frustrated, I grabbed the jug, unscrewed the cap, and squeezed it hard right over the engine block, hoping to spot where the fluid was supposed to go.
A crisp, dry whoosh blasted out.
The bug started right up, and off I went!
