Accidentally used high mileage Mobil 1

i’d go right back in the HM oil. as others have said, HM variants are normally formulated just a little bit better. i used high mileage oil from new on many fleet vehicles.

It's totaled.

That is what I was thinking. Quickly sell it to some sucker since it probably will not last until the next oil change.

To add to the marketing options, here is a jug where “ High Mileage” is front and center and is not just an add-on option to to another attribute such as the “ Extended Performance “. It clearly says “ formulated to help prevent leaks” but does not say whether it “ swells” or “ conditions” seals.

I’m a little disappointed.

Thought I was pouring Mobil One 0W 20 extended performance, and when I look at the label after pouring in 3 quarts, it says extended performance high mileage, as the labels look nearly identical.

I’m pouring this into a twoARFE RAV4 with only 22,000 miles on it. Should I drain this stuff out?

I wouldn’t care, but it seems weird putting high mileage into some thing that only has 22,000 miles on it

It will not hurt at all.with proper viscosity Worry only if you ran the vehicle without any oil

The HM oil is a really good oil. People do not understand oil.

Some HM oils condition and some H\M oils swell seals . Either way it shouldnt hurt to use it .

Not anymore seal conditioners than are allowed the the SAE S ratings on the bottle.

Both my current fleet Ford Escape at 60K and my last fleet vehicle (Ford Fusion) have seen nothing but HM oil since new. No worries.

I run full syn HM oils from the very first OC in all my vehicles, generally Valvoline, but sometimes Mobil. I like their add packs better and I have never had any sort of problem. They are generally the same price as the "non-HM" stuff around here. You shouldn't worry whatsoever.
