I don't see where it is, but the 5.1 jug I just bought says it "exceeds" Dexos1 specs on the front, and is listed on the back where it says "Additional specifications" and lists it along with all the others and GM 6094M.
I can't find anywhere on the 'net that it's "approved". I do my own oil changes, but called my local Valvoline oil change place that said "we now have Dexos" on their sign. I specifically asked if it was approved and they said "yes". Not sure I believe them. Not that it matters, I'm gonna use it anyway...just curious

On this pds it says it has dexos1 approval in 5w-30 and 5w-20. Not sure why it has 5w-20 but none the less

And on the first one, is it actually approved, or just meets the performance level? Could read either way I suppose on how one takes it. Oh well, my truck loves it, so I'll keep running it.

I have seen a number of times where syn. has a better add package re dino. Check the differenc between PYB and PP. Also PYB beats Synpower by 10 yards add pack wise,and Synpower is $28 in China Mart. Times they are a changing.

FYI: there are synthetic oil users who don't believe in doing extended drains, and I'm one of them. I do 5K mile OCIs with Synpower comfortably, even though it could probably hold up nicely for thousands of miles more than I run it. The only time I would even consider running an oil to 10K miles is with a 8 quart sump or larger.

....sounds like you may need a visit from Buster........there's more to an oil than the additives.

It looks like Chevron Supreme and PYB are the best oils on the chart.
