People have been wondering what add pack different oils have. I took data from VOA and PDS and created a list of SN oils.I know there are a lot more oils out there but these are the SN oil analysis I could get a hold of. I did use a UOA a few times so those numbers might be lower. This is so people can see which additives each oil uses regardless of the PPM, since there is some lab error in them (I also rounded a few to make them even 5 or 10 numbers, 1 or 2 ppm isn't going to matter). I Used on SN oils since this is the spec now. I had to abbreviate everything to make it fit ok in the code since I can't figure out how to attach a excel without making it http.

845 for the calcium on Mobil 1's AFE 0W-20 seems low; from some of the UOAs posted here, if I remember correctly, they are in the 1700-2200 range. Also the calcium on Castrol Edge's is very low. An analysis on my Corolla when using Edge produced a calcium value in the low 3000 range. Could the new SN formula in fact be this low in regard to the calcium?

Thanks for doing that! I think I'd have gone blind or cross-eyed putting that together. Is it just me, or does Pennzoil yellow bottle look pretty darn good? Like compared to the 10w-30 PP I just dumped out because my Chevy 5.3L engine hated it? My neighbor uses 5w-30 yellow bottle exclusively in his '01 Ford 4.6L 4x4 at 140k and it runs and sounds like new. Very interesting chart.

I thought the same thing! look at the moly and the zinc.

That was the SM and old versions. The SN Mobil 1 oils are all now a calcium/magnesium combo. The all cut the calcium way down and increased the magnesium A LOT to help with TBN retention.

Exactly! I couldn't believe the moly content. Isn't moly on the pricey side? Thought I read that somewhere...probably here. And the zinc is pretty much right with the rest of them for emission system non-failures. Very impressive.

I used colors on excel to make it a lot easier to read! Too bad we can just upload files onto here. Made some very interesting charts as well.

Also factor in that the only source for PYB and PP I had was a UOA, there is probably some boron depletion and left overs from previous oil fills.

There so much more I can/have done but can't upload it. It makes for some very interesting charts! Just need all the rest of the castrol, pennzoil, quaker state, and mobili VOA but theres a lot of oils right there to get tested

Will add packs be relatively consistent across the most popular grades? For example, can I assume that PYB in 5W-20 will have about the same add pack as PYB in 5W-30?
