A great source for DIY auto repair information

He mostly works on Honda/Acura/Toyota vehicles, but many of the concepts apply to other vehicles. He just bought a Subaru Legacy and has done a bunch of videos on it. He's branching out though and doing more repair videos on domestics. Most of the principles in theory transfer from make to make and model to model and it's nice to see how he actually manages the logistics of doing complex repair tasks without a lift.

Following is the list of the good guys on youtube

ericthecarguy
scottykilmer
scannerdanner
realfixesrealfast

There are couple more but I can't remember their exact channel names (one is Brian and another is Will and yet another is EdZ).

If you want to watch 4-minute clutch job, Scotty is your guy :-)

Scotty is alright, but he skims through it without showing all the exact steps. That's why some of ETCG's videos are 2 parts and one hour total. He'll show you where exact bolts are, what size, and the tricks for getting at them.

He's going to be re-building his Odyssey transmission again soon. I believe he started working on it yesterday, so expect a video on that as well.

If you own a Saturn, you *have* to subscribe to RichPin. He is is also from Western Mass. You will love his accents!

The guys I was thinking about were biransmobile1 and robinsonsauto

ScannerDanner is amazing. Even if you don't work on cars, if you watch him diagnose an engine problem via computers and scanners, it really helps you understand how the systems on a car work.
