Even though Wally World is supposedly cleaning out it's MC stash, new MC 820s's keep showing up on the shelf. And I keep cleaning them out for 2 bucks and change each. Great price for a great filter.

Winston,

The scary part is those are the only two I cut open yesterday!!! The ADBV's were both still very soft and in great condition. That is why I was surprised at how bad these filters were. They were not in use for an extended drain interval. In fact one of my employees commented on how good the ADBV's were and was surprised that the media had already failed. If they would have been rock hard I would have half expected what I saw but they were far from it.

These two failed filters look very similar to the failed filters I had last year. I still believe that the clicker valve is the problem. That would explain why they aren't manufactured any more.

I'm now using the Ecore filters on my Corolla. I'm on my fourth one right now. I cut them open after use, and they look good. The end caps are on nice and tight.

lubeowner,
That may well be the most comforting line I've ever read on BITOG. Thanks for doing all your used filter research.
