1993 Volvo 240 sedan 5 speed 189,000 miles

I purchased this on Thursday. It sat in a garage in Milford CT for 10 years. Fuel tank was drained and filled with fresh gas, fuel filter and main fuel pump replaced. The engine started right up. No rust of any importance.

I will give it a thorough maintenance update and detailing before reselling.

Purchased for $1,500.

for 189k it looks like it's in good shape. Great find. What's your plans? Also in your signature I think your mileage may be off on the first 240 listed? It shows 2037k.

It would be even better to keep it. That rust free 240 Volvo would serve you well for a few hundred thousand miles.

Right. And in New England? Instant street cred. Roll into any college town, don’t shower that morning, and affect a disheveled look - you’ll fit right in.

When I was in college I remember you couldn’t swing a dead cat w/o hitting a red-block Volvo.

@ecotourist I have three 240 that we will never sell: Inga, Birgitta and Astrid. Shown in the pictures All are virtually rust free and in mint condition.

My hobby is restoring/preserving these cars. I currently have 3 in the preservation/restoration queue: Freyja, Sylvia and Alice (Swedish for Alice)

Love that blue sedan (Birgitta?).

I have a P80 wagon I like a lot; if/when I get a 200 I want a sedan vs. the “cooler” wagon. ;)

You've been busy buying Northern European modern classics.
I'm both jealous and a little worried about being tempted myself.
