Anybody really happy with a service that does a quality job with vac testing reaming/repair and updates. Found a guy and was wondering if $450 was a decent number.

That's about what a Sonnax reman costs.

I do my own for the units I build.

A Sonnax AFL Valve Kit (Reaming required), Sonnax Bore Plugs, And a TransGo TCC Regulator Valve will fix 90% of 4L60E valve bodies.
If they need more than that I throw them away.

Whats the quality of Sonnax's kits- I love Sonnax parts but have read the VB's don't measure up to there own spec. Who buy the tp HD model ?

Sonnax like any other large corporation uses cheap labor & the VB's are tested on a test stand in a pass/fail. Not vacuum tested like we do in the field.

HD is for the Overrun Clutch it stay on in D3-1st & D3-2nd to protect the forward sprag, If you're not abusing the unit.....Not a need.
