LOL....well, this thread took a huge nosedive.
I'll pipe in. I do 3mo/3k oci, and I usually dump my oil when it has 2k on it because it has been 3 months. I use Castrol GTX 5w30. Too some of you it's a waste of time and money. For me, it is not. I enjoy changing my oil, I enjoy looking under my car for any other potential issues while changing oil, and I enjoy being proactive in making my car last a long time, even if I am dumping the oil a bit prematurely. Buying a car is in and of itself a big waste of money, so a little "over-kill" maintanence is money in the bank for me, because I'm keeping my vehicles well beyond 200k.

I wish you lived near me. I would take your "used" oil and run it another 3,000 miles.![]()

I change it every 4 months with dino, I figure if you can get 5 quarts of dino (on sale) and a decent filter for around $12 it's worth it for me to change more often, now if conventional oils sky rocket in price then I'd switch to synthetics and do longer OCI's.
My last OCI was 7K with Mobil 1 5W-20.Quote:
I change oil at 3,000 mile intervals, and was curious as to what brands and types of oil everyone else is using for the same OCI. How many miles do you have on your vehicles with 3,000 mile oil changes?
