25 Impreza RS

33 is crazy. That car should 25 max .Car industry is just pure insanity the last few years with no shows of it coming back down to earth.

For some reason Subaru seems to be less into making their cars fun. Even the upcoming WRX STI has no extra power over the WRX and doesn’t even come with a manual transmission 🫤
Put me in charge of the STi division. I’d basically do a version of the Dodge Demon; buy the car (similar to S209) and then you buy the “Demon Box” that comes with several choice bolt-ons & hotter full-E85 tune, along with a set of auto-x wheels & tires.

I’m thinking let’s make a “hot V” type set of heads for the FB25. Equal length headers on top of the engine feeding a central turbo, with the intake being a Ram-air funnel behind the grille like a Vararam Pontiac G8-style. Turbo exit to intake ports on bottom of engine is hand-TIG’d titanium with ceramic heat-rejecting coating with V-band connections. FMIC is gonna be large enough to have less than 2psi pressure drop. Since this is pipe-dream territory already, it’s going to be 5-valve heads that Yamaha helps design, and we’re boring the block and slipping some 4” Darton sleeves in it. Crank can stay, but with some knife-edging and performance coatings, giving us 2.92L. Compression would be about 10.5:1 with a 66mm turbo and probably about 30psi of boost. Should be good for at least 550HP at the wheels, more on E85. Make it look like this, but update the lights to modern LEDs with an off-road mode that would activate a 2nd full set of LEDs to give proper rally lighting.

Trans would be a sequential X-Shift 6-speed, and the end of the speedo there would be a sensor that caused this to display on the infotainment screen:

Let’s give it a sticker price of $45k, and the Demon box would be $10k. Comes with full bumper-to-bumper warranty of 36 months. How’s that? 😎

80% of WRX buyers buy a manual (I think that is what I read). No manual option in any other Subaru other than BRZ. I'd like to know the failure rate of the CVT. The SPT in the WRX is really nice.

That's probably the best looking variation they ever made.
