As a life long Mopar fan, I can't believe I'm saying this.... But man I love this thing, even more than I loved my Ram. It just does everything well. Now at 92k miles, I decided to treat it to window tint and a brow to match the factory tint.

It's got power whenever you ask for it, TONS of room, the kids are happier than ever in it, and being my wife primarily drives it she hasn't had one complaint. The 4x4/AWD is awesome. My understanding is it's technically AWD as you can use it on dry pavement, but you can also put it into 2 high 🤷‍♂️ It's a little thirsty, averaging 15-16 in this frigid cold but its on school pick up duty (lots of idle) and gets remote started a lot, my truck averaged 14-15 to and from work. On the highway it does phenomenal though, 17-18 on our last day trip averaging an alleged 80. Not bad for a 5300lb brick.

And man.... This thing soaks up bumps and rough roads. Just floats down the road, in a good way. Much easier to drink out of my coffee mug in it than in the challenger.... And impossible to do in my Ram. Please don't tell my wife I'm using her Ray Dunn mugs as travel cups though!

But don't worry my fellow Mopar guys.... The Challenger ain't going nowhere 😉

Dad had a 2022 and now a 2025. Both got around 21 on his daily work commute. Not bad at all.

The 3.5 EB has come a long way. Meanwhile the new Tacoma with a twin turbo 4 cylinder gets a laughable 19 on a good day.

It’s too bad the Expedition can’t get configured like an F150 though. The huge info-tainment screen is a little ridiculous. (The 2022’s screen was supposedly discontinued in 2024 or so.) A 5.0 or 6.2 option would be nice too.

Looks even shorter with the cutoff pics... 🤣
It really does. Tons of room and short wheelbase does not go in a sentence together in my mind. My Yukon XL is very roomy and I still used the roof rack and trailer hitch carrier for more cargo room when doing very long road trips.

We rented one when we took a trip to Minnesota in 2024. It was nice. I'd like one but man I'm too cheap to get one. Having never driven one or anything similar I was expecting it to be a rough ride. It was not. I was impressed.

You bought it with 91k?
90k. It looked brand new though, interior was immaculate, exterior is a 9/10, no mechanical issues noticed so far.
Did you look at the long wheel base version when you were shopping around.
Yes, on one hand it would be nice to have more room behind the 3rd row. On the other, this one is very easy to park. We needed more passenger room (family of 6) compared to the van, my oldest sons first comment about it was how much more legroom he has in the 3rd row.

They fold like a cardboard box though.
My Ram didn't fair that well, and the expedition is rated higher by NHTSA 🤷‍♂️ this gave my wife a concussion and a broken hand.

Hope no one was hurt. I imagine you lost traction and slid sideways into a post. Do you think the tires had an effect? What was on the ram.

Wife was alone, she went out for groceries and a break from the kids. When she left it was starting to snow but the roads were clear, within the hour and a half 2 hours she was gone it got real bad. Hit black ice and slid into a pole at the end of our road going 35-40 prior to hitting a snowdrift and the grass..... No airbags went off, she hit her head pretty good giving her a concussion and broke a bone in her hand. Truck had Yokohama Geolandar G015's with 8 or 9/32 tread left.

When I got to her (literally a 45 second drive) I saw other cars try to turn and slide right past the road as well. Truck drove back home under its own power though. Telephone pole was unscathed...

My next one will most likely be an XL Yukon or whatever Escalade calls their extended. Hopefully, not soon though. I have a lot of miles to put on the XC90 first. (y)

I'm fortunate to hear your wife is okay. Bad weather can really mess things up.

If I had to buy a new lwb SUV in 2026 it would most likely be a 2wd 5.3 LT suburban. I don't think I would touch the Yukon or Escalade anymore. Really only got the Escalade because I've owned a suburban before and still have the yukon xl and I fancied the thought of having owned all 3 in the range.

But I would have been more than happy with a suburban LT with one luxury package. I remember they had three tiers of luxury packages going from 2 to 5k and an LT with the lowest of the three had everything I wanted and nothing else I could care about.

But if gm were to release a sort of value package for the LS where you get a heated steering wheel and heated front and rear vinyl or whatever fake leather named seats they have with no ventilation but added lumbar support and that digital review camera and heated lass but still no sun roof or other crap I would take it.

If it was possible to get an expedition el with the 6.8 or 7.3 gas and 6r140 I would be all over it. I love that combination and I would take it over the GM's any day of the week unless GM were to put the 6.6 and 6L90 in which would also be great.

Also I love those smaller 17 or 18's that the LT and LS get. I wish I could have those smaller rims in my escalade, it would be more comfortable.

Yeah with the facelift the Tahoe and suburban got a while ago they're essentially one tick lower escalades. When they first came out the suburban was bit more traditional inside but fine by me and I didn't really care about the interior of the escalate. In fact it kind of hate the escalade interior and would be happy with the older suburban interior. I still detest the awful flipper button nonsense for the AC controls and I don't like those bottom mounted vents they just suck.

People hate the shifter buttons in the suburban but they are much better than the fake space robbing shifter the escalade has which doesn't have any mechanical connection to the transmission.

I love the big top mounted AC vents in my old Yukon and Sierra. Getting tons of ice cold air blasting right into my face will never not be wonderful. I barely get any air blowing at my face in the escalade with these awful vents. At least it has remote start so I can let it run for a few minutes as I'm going to the parking lot because it really needs it.
