Ya my bad. There are two oil pump styles...one sets deeper in the crankcase.
The deep one I had pushed the camshaft forward about .040" and busted the boss off the idler shaft.
OTOH, the lifters are perfect and the cam lobes broke in nicely considering there was a bunch of debris in the oil for all those miles from the pump:
