2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV

Got it. I thought this was smaller than the Blazer.

It's much closer to a Y then, if not slightly larger.

I had the mistaken impression that there were two platform sizes, but there arent.

There were two motors for the FWD portion, a high HP (240) and I think 214, guessing this test was the low one?

EPA says Model Y gets 4MPKWH, whats the EPA rating on this ?

Where has the max charge rate settled on it?

Max charging is around 157kW. That’s what most tests have shown and that’s what my Blazer EV has done too. It’s certainly not one of the faster DC Fast charging EVs in the class. Probably below average, especially since it requires a 500A charger for max charging (usually labelled 350kW, as 350kW chargers usually also output 500A). It’s similar to ID.4 or Mach-e peak charging speeds, but definitely slower than IONIQ 5/EV6. Model Y will be faster too, unless you get a now-discontinued 4680 Model Y, which is likely the worst in this category.

Equinox EV is definitely not the best road trip EV, nor the most efficient. But if you want big total range, for a low price and lots of room for passengers, that’s where it’ll shine.

Model Y is definitely more efficient, but also has a smaller battery. The LR AWD will never come close to 300 miles at 70-MPH like this will. The new “unlocked” LR RWD Model Y might come close, but I doubt it’ll hit 300.

That video was interesting.

I didnt see all 4680 tests, but if this has the same battery then it has that "GM dip" about 40% in they all seem to share, I cant see it beating even a 4680 car, but maybe - if so good for the General.

I wonder how big the battery really is?

We'll know when Kyle at out of spec gets it, he tests trips at 80.

Hes driven a pre pro so far.

His 10% challenge is pretty good - he runs them down to 10% - charges for (I think 15 minutes) drives at 80. then tests how many miles back down to 10%.
Yeah, I think I’ve seen that guy from links posted by others in here. Maybe it was you very informative

I see GM is coming out with their $35,000 equinox 2025 I assume that means 28,000 to the purchaser with the tax credit

I know I know, we will see if you can buy one for that price

Kyle is a smart guy and is trying to provide a service.

He runs fairly informative tests, but he seems to be allergic to using a character generator to post information so you have to glean most specs out of listening to what he has to say - and he talks ALOT.

Think mother in law on a road trip.

Price vs. range in the US market, the only thing that will match Equinox EV is Model 3 LR RWD. But that’s also a smaller vehicle, inside and out.

The $34,995 Equinox EV LT starts production soon. That’ll be the cheapest 300-mile EV by a huge margin.

Is the 35K version the 250 car, or is it the 300 mile car?

Have we actually seen what it is that you are getting with this base car yet?

Those all changed from when they originally announced the Equinox EV. That 250 mile version was supposed to have a smaller battery and be “around $30,000” but they cancelled it.

Now every FWD is the 300-mile version - which got finalized at 319-miles once it went on sale. The 280-mile AWD got finalized at 285 miles. This range applies to the base FWD $35k car too.

The base car features are a bit hard to pin down until the Build feature is updated on the website, but this order guide is published. (Trying to
Attach it - link won’t work)

I think it comes down to: 319 miles, the big 17.7” screen, the base alloy wheels, Cloth/manual seats, vinyl steering wheel, no exterior LEDs, no roof rails, no park sensors, no heated seats/mirrors/steering wheel, etc.

Annoying, Much of this stuff you have to throw the list price away, though I am SURE you can still buy them online at the list price from a number of sources.
I was shocked even here locally near the Carolina coast. Dealer has $2000 in BS dealer adds ons added to the list price of the Equinox EV on all of them. Only if and when production catches up with demand or lack of demand ... or buy online.

Well, if you fancy a trip to Texas and some great tex-mex food as a bonus come buy from my dealer in Galveston. Seven brands and never anything added above Monroney sticker price on any vehicle sold.

He does talk a lot, and he talks slow. I watch his videos at 2x normal speed, as a YouTube subscriber I have that option, not sure it's available to everyone.

The base $34,995 (shipped) / 319 mile Equinox EV is on the Chevrolet.com build site. Listings “in transit” starting to show up on dealer websites, so it’s coming soon 👍.

$27,495 after Federal instant rebate.

From what I understood there was going to be some fairly heavy de-contenting for the base LT model.

I can’t find anything like it around here or even on the Chevrolet site says it’s not available yet it offers to take an email address. I’m glad you posted the picture though.i did enter my information
I guess I’ll believe it when I can see it and actually buy it?

One 2025 Equinox EV out of dozens of gasoline near me, the price is 50k
I know they are going to be available this model year but I wonder how many base models since it may cannibalize their profitable Gasoline versions.

Do you know I had a mental block and I could not think of the word cannibalize so I asked AI and I told AI how I wanted to use a specific word to fit the circumstances and AI told me cannibalize!

When I thanked her, she replied with this answer

This will be it. From understanding:
• manual seats. Cloth surface.
• no heated anything (seats, steering wheels, mirrors)
• no park sensors
• no exterior LED strips/animations/etc.
• no roof rails
• no exterior/surround cameras other than rear backup
• no ambient lighting
• no auto dimming mirror
Etc.

The 250 mile “around $30,000” model isn’t happening anymore.

I think this just got added yesterday to the build site. I think in the next few weeks there will be more updates to Chevy website. 2025 Blazer EV just got more power, torque and range. I’m guessing Equinox EV gets those updates too - but not yet official.

Manual what?
The range is 319 miles on the base model
I live in the south I don’t need heated seats or anything else.
Actually, your post is exactly what I’m looking for, except I would like a good stereo, but I already know it will be because it is an LT model and even the Chevrolet Bolts had a good stereo

Animation, surround cameras are nothing but trouble if you keep a car along time and most the time it just sits in the driveway. I’ve never had any of that stuff anyway why do I need it now?

I’m still interested if will ever be able to purchase one at the base price if I can I might go for it maybe.
One thing for sure Chevrolet is not gonna make it easy to purchase and I am positive. They will be in short supply nor will the dealers want them because of limited profitability all around.

If GM doesn’t screw it up they will killl it with a base model. Taxpayers pay the $7,500 down payment too.

Also the new 2025/26 Chevy Bolt production line is getting ready that maybe interesting too

Sorry, I probably wasn’t clear on that. I mean’t manual seats. Un-powered.

AG you're a pretty geeky guy... Have you done time in Silicon Valley?
AI? Impressive....

I hate computers.
