They really should reconsider the name. Although they had the same Falcon, Mustang, and Fairlane suspension the cars were not pretty.

I liked the idea of Ford going back to their roots and renaming the current Ranger the F100 and maybe saving the Ranger name for a compact-sized truck like this one.

When I saw a headline about the "Ford Maverick" I was honestly kind of disappointed to see another friggin truck.

I don't know what to think of this vehicle, it is confusing, nothing that would interest me, the bed is worthless its like a 4dr with no trunk lid, I think a 76 Electra or Caddy with the 6 body trunk had more cargo space.

The vehicle looks like someone took a sawzall to the back of a Flex. "Poof!" We have another car based truck.

I think this would be interesting with the Ecoboost. I would like to see it a little smaller or on a car platform so it's not so close to the Ranger. Ford and Chevrolet seem like they're trying to do everything but bring Ute's back to the States.

When I heard that name it brought back fond memories of the 1970 Maverick I had in anti establishment mint green.

Yep, it looks like a sawed off Flex. A front wheel drive vehicle with a bed isn’t a truck. The Mustang E should have been named Maverick.

What is funny is they have used the Maverick name in Europe for what is known in the US and Canada as the Escape.

As an American it is physically impossible to drive anything other than an AWD pickup

In a few years you will see socker moms driving this

Not much positive association with that name. My mind goes straight to "bloated Pinto". They were never the prettiest girl at the car show.

I would prefer Falcon, one of my favorite Fords.
By the way, keep your hands off the Galaxie name! The '63 1/2 is too perfect.
