2021 Ram Ecodiesel MS-12992

Plenty of Euros run high SAPS oils with DPFs. Volvo has used A5/B5 oils with DPF for years, so has Ford in Europe. DPFs survive just fine in those.
What are other “plenty?” Ford is not some "diesel name" in Europe. It was always there, but mediocre at best.
VW group (Seat/Skoda/VW/Audi/Porsche) has always used Mid-SAPS and Low-SAPS since the introduction of PD engines and later CR engines. BMW has used LL04 since 2004, MB since 2004, PSA and Renault have also used Low-SAPS since 2004, or the introduction of Ultra low sulphur diesel and with that DPF, Toyota and Honda, in their attempts to offer diesels, have also used C3 oils. Also, FIAT and later FCA, then Stellantis, use Low-SAPS oils. So "plenty" comes down to FORD/Volvo/Land Rover.
DPF does not have an unlimited lifespan. It eventually dies bcs. It gets clogged by sulfated ash, or in some cases cleaning can be done. Low-SAPS oils prolong that. So when you say "fine," you are basically saying that Ford/Volvo/Land Rover are OK with more sulfated ash in DPF. It is simple math. The question is: why do they need A5 oil? Full SAPS with lower HTHS instead of C2, C3 or C5 which would prolong DPF lifespan. Like the engine in question, oils are often a band-aid to certain issues.

One buys a problematic engine and then goes and buys a true scam.
Poor souls.

OP, I've got the same 3rd gen EcoD and I've used the QS Euro, the PP Euro that the dealers are supposed to use, and M1 Delvac ESP.

No issues running any of those (although the Delvac is not MS-12991), and currently running Chevron's Delo XSP.

I'm also GDE-tuned, so I am my own warranty - couldn't be bothered about the MS-12991 nonsense really as it's a material standard, not a stringent oil spec as such. FCA also requires it for their Fiat 124 Spyder, among others. Pretty sure it's not "the best" oil you can buy.

The Castrol Euro stuff is good, I'd use that if strict warranty adherence is a concern. I just wouldn't run it past 6-7K miles.

Head on over to ram1500diesel dot com for a LOT more EcoD specific discussion and info.

Well, I hit a snag. Went to order it and had 6 5 qt. ready to pay and Castrol popped up Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 Turbo Diesel. Now I don't know which to go with. I have a turbo 3.0 Eco Diesel. Sat on hold with Castrol for over an hour and hung up.
