No. And the OP is not using LT rated tires. He's just saying his warranty was denied because "light trucks" are not covered. His truck is not a "light truck" though... the dealer or tire manufacturer is simply trying to rip him off.

Frankly, I think I would fire Mavis and take my chances with some other tire shop.
Don't go to Mavis tire for anything if they don't have your tire in stock they will charge you to get them?? The last time I went there which was the last time I will ever go there. I'm waiting for two tires and they tried selling me struts that had no more than 20,000 mi on them

Another thought... the company I work for has probably the largest fleets of Frontiers in the country. I would say they are not particularly attentively maintained and are certainly not driven gently. Most deliveries are similar to how DoorDash would be - small items, around town, etc. Occasionally large/heavy items like an engine or transmission or 55 gallon drum of oil. Typically it's the cheapest possible tire and mostly not rotated on time... they rotate when you drive, yaknow? And they always last more than 20k miles!
Destination LE3 is a good tire. We had a set of destination LE, which was a darn good tire, and two sets of the LE2. LE2 was also a very good tire, it’s only limitation is the typical wet traction issues in a RWD truck. These will get you much farther than a cheap bargain tire.
Not running LT tires. P metric for truck. Was under the impression that they would honor the tread wear warranty, however as I found out I am SOL.
Got the Firestone tires installed on Friday. Right away they vibrated, however I didn’t have time to go back. They stated no warranty when I was leaving so I knew this upfront. Called this morning and they had me bring it back to them. Tech was trying to blame Firestone tires and stated that it’s normal for Firestone to have some vibrations. I kept my cool and watched him recheck tires. I made a suggestion to use road force when I handed over keys. I noticed that it was taking longer than expected then I seen he was test driving. When he got back he stated all was well and that he had to road force them. Before road force 4 oz of weight and after 3/4 oz of weight. Tires are smooth and quiet. Plenty of grip as well. I won’t know how bad it affects fuel mileage for a couple of tanks.
The LE3 should be a decent tire. Run about 35psi all around and rotate at every 6,000 miles

When I had searched on some tires they also charged a "stocking fee". I made out OK as I did a price match thing for the ones I bought.
@tiger862 - get a Jaco Tread Depth gauge and a nice digital gauge. This Etenwolf tested well on Project Farm and I can say matches my Jaco Elite Digital.
I use the depth gauge across tire monthly. If center is wearing more, I need to reduce 1-2 psi. If edges wearing more than I need to usually bump up by 1-2psi. The depth gauge is nice as it has the tick marks between each 1/32". They make digital versions but that also gets crazy. I used one of the stick version depth gauges forever but the Jaco makes it easier to tell between the 32's. It may help you see if you need to rotate more frequently also.
Consider Costco in future for choices as you can have them rotate, document and may be more helpful for issues. They include 5 year road hazard and have free mounting as well as repairs. Sam's in NY no longer offers road hazard but other states do. Discount Tire you have to pay for road hazard but they also do free repairs, not sure on rotations.
If I didn't get the great deal from Mavis, definitely not my place to go just like Firestone for car care.

I have a depth gauge that I use during oil changes. I do as you said and if I didn’t, the tires would not have made it as far as they did. Tire stores probably don’t like it when you have them correct tire issues especially after they did the work. I don’t expect to get high tread life as I drive a lot but I expected to get some compensation if only mount and balance. I guess that’s too much.
