LOL, yep

Yep, just empty banter, just what I expected. You never answered my question.

I've OWNED both, there's no comparison.

Stop now before you lose more creditability.

They're not even made on the same Continent or by the same Company!

Do you read your own posts?

Note: anyone claiming the GTO does not look like a Grand Prix coupe should not be permitted to operate a motor vehicle unless and until he or she sees an optometrist!

YOU said: "A grand prix coupe with a funky hood."

Do a thorough analysis, side by side, engine, interior, etc. Then drive them. THEN, try to tell all of us the GTO is a Grand Prix.

A wiser and quicker way: When you're in a hole, stop digging.

That means you're essentially saying it's the same thing as a Grand Prix with a funky hood. You made no "exterior styling" distinction.

I don't think it is Voodoo

BMW uses a sprung-hub center on the disc + a guibo on the output shaft on the trans to do the same thing. Assuming we are speaking about the same thing of course

I'm not arguing, they're different cars. There's only so much styling differences you can do to coupe's. Back on original topic, please.

.

Other than that, Mustang's always looked pretty unexciting if not boring and ungainly. Maybe the late 60's to 70's 1st gen model looked good too. Other than that the Camaro (and Firebird) styling over the years wins by a landslide imo.

The sales figures on the new gen camaro show how the general public feels. It sells like hotcakes without discounts. Plus owners have reported a great deal of positive feedback about its daily utility being quite good, it's a great car.

There's a great deal of engineering expertise in the hi-po GM offerings that is simply not present in the Stangs. Subtleties of power delivery and chassis control that simply are not in the GT500. Sure, the GT500 is powerful and wins all the straight line races, but when there's cornering and stopping as well... Camaro wins.

IMHO the Camaro Hi Po models are a much sweeter car to take to the track or enjoy a drive.

The Stang remains... faster.

I'm glad someone inserted some factual and engineering related comments.

I dont usually laugh at comments quite as hard as I did at this one!

I don't care about the looks, as they FINALLY are offering a TRUE '1LE'-type club sport/FUUL delete, road racer option in a 5th gen, along with a (hopefully improved/kinks worked out) LS7 powerplant, and at least a laudable effort at pork reduction (but it could STILL use a 500+ lb. diet as far as I'm concerned, EVEN IF that means prohibitively costly exotic materials
wink.gif
).

I LOVE that they finally realized that big, donking, pimped-out wheels are NOT the way to go for all-out performance models!!

NOW, let GM do this same treatment (LS7 and all) to the new, lighter, ATS platform based f body of the future, and it will be a REAL Euro-killer (and then some!!

).

I find it's easier to just ignore pointless commentary like "Grand Prix coupe with a funky hood."

If one is really so simple as to believe that because 2 vehicles look superficially similar to some people, they are the same thing, instead of it being an incendiary, trolling post, they aren't worth the effort. It would be like "explaining physics to a cat", to use one posters phrase.

Of course in this case it was obviously an incendiary troll post.

Kind of like if I said,

"Mustang... just a Taurus Coupe with a funky hood".

True. Too bad they think they can get away with that nonsense.

Don't listen to Jaraxle. He likes to spin guys up. Does the same thing on the RV boards...I just sit back and watch.

I was just looking at a '12 Camaro in person and actually it looks good. You could say even stiking or stunningly good. I'm just not a big fan of too much retro styling, big wheel diameters and small side windows. But small windows isn't uncommon now and hotrodders for years have spent time and money getting the chopped top and big wheels look. So I guess I can see the reasoning behind it's styling.

Since introduction. This is true. Seems this board is heavy Anti-GM. GM could build the Camary and people here would say it sucked.
Having said that, McDonalds sells more fries than anyone, does not mean they are the best. Kind of like Fords trucks...

They got a faster time recently with the latest GT500. Also, the Camaro SS 1LE outran the Boss 302. The GT500, ZL1 and 1LE were tested this year. The Boss 302 last year.

Camaro ZL1 - 2:57.5
GT500 - 3:00.6
Camaro SS 1LE - 3:01.5
Boss 302 Laguna Seca - 3:02.8

The GT500 tested in 2011 ran 3:04.0.
