Technically, the only Regal that's going to cost $35,000 is a GS. They never had a Chinese-made transmission.

The first of the new Buick Regal (early MY11) were built in Russelsheim, Germany. These cars had Chinese transmissions.

When production shifted to Oshawa (late MY11), the transmissions were then sourced from the United States (2.4L) and Mexico (2.0L). Coming into 2013, I have yet to see a Mexico (or China) transmission. I have seen both 2.4L and 2.0L transmissions all coming from the United States.

FWIW, the 2.4L uses a GM HydraMatic unit and the 2.0L (in both regular turbo and GS trim) use an Aisin transmission.
