2011 LML Dmax

one of my buddies got a '11 Dmax 3500, he went to the local express oil last time where they dumped the factory fill and put Amsoil. i just changed it for him this time, used a Napa Gold filter and some Chevron Delo 15W40. ive always heard that once you start running amsoil or royal purple that you cant run anything else, is this true?

Nope. That's another one of those old myths that was probably never true, and certainly isn't true today.

Especially with the Dmax, which just isn't hard on oil at all.

If he runs all the way on the OLM he may want a syn for peace of mind (I do in my 09) but it's likely not needed.
