Had a buddy with a Syclone who lived in Santa Monica a block from the beach during the OJ Simpson Murder Trail. It was so grossly overrun with media types and gawkers that he decide to spend a month in Portland to "just get away"...
I was down there for a civil trial (held in beautiful Compton, no less) and drove up from LA to Portland with him in the Syclone. This was after we spent a weekend roaring around the LA Basin.
I can only tell you that it was one of the fastest, easiest to drive from stoplight-to-stoplight vehicles I've ever had the opportunity to drive!
FAST,FAST, FAST!!!! Just powerbrake it a bit at the line and push the GO! pedal to the floor! BANG! BANG! go the shifts and brake for the 1st stop sign or red light.
The drive to Portland (we left LA at 9:00 pm) was done in what was for me record time, stopping only for gas a couple times. Probably averaged 85 mph that night.
Cheers!
p.s. I wonder if he still has it? Had a real nice black 'glass canopy but was not set up to tow very much, as I recall. Sure hauled A$$, though!
