Selling my 2011 craftsman tractor. 42 inch deck, 21 HP B&S platinum engine with the splash lube system. Has roughly 75 hours. Anyone recommend a price? I have it listed for $800 on craigslist. Bought new a $1,749 plus tax in 9/2011

Sounds about right for price provided it's super clean and basically like new. Your biggest hit price-wise will be that first few years.

Last year I picked up a like new 2006 model year Craftsman LT2000 w/ 18.5hp briggs, 42" deck, Peerless hydro and twin bin rear bagger for $350. Dude even delivered it to my house. CL purchase, pretty close to the house.

I sold the rear bagger kit a few days later on CL for $50. It was missing one bin and I have no patience for bagging.

Are you sure it has splash lube? No oil filter? Splash lube is what all the smaller OPE engines use. Normally the ones in lawn tractors have pressure lube.

I thought all the platinum engines had a filter and full pressure lube.

Craftman isnt a premium brand so I'd say put it on at 900$ and take 750$

of course location USA doesnt mean much.. local markets can vary.

Where are you located?

Wayne

Be ready for some negotiating my friend.

That is a steep price in the mower business these days.

Let us know how it goes

Baldwin is where it is posted. It is really Baltimore though. Maryland of course.

Yeah, my mix up. Must've been thinking of my push mower when I posted this. It is correct on CL though, so at least I got 1 out of 2!

Will do. I will give it a week or so, and if it doesn't sell I will likely drop it to $700. It really looks brand new and runs fine. Plus it has the engine which from what I have been told is about as bullet-proof as the Briggs come
