My cousins daughter bought this car today. It has no owners manual, but the dealer said he would "try" to find one for her.
According to the interweb it states the required oil must be DEXOS approved 5W30. Any opinions on this and oil suggestions, please? And, the oil filter also. Thanx. thumbsup

From my experience, Walmart's usually carry the Purolator Classic, most of (if not all) the Fram lineup, certain Bosch DistancePlus, certain Motorcraft, certain ACDelco, and certain Mopar.

You can go to Chevy's website and DOWNLOAD an Owner's Manual in PDF format for free. I like the PDF OMs because you can search for words/phrases and find things fast.

Pick the year and model, and download it:

Dexos1 oil is easy to find. Just look on the back of the bottle ... it will say if it meets dexos1 one specs or not. DO NOT get dexos2 ... that is for diesel engines.

Use a Purolator PureOne of FRAM Ultra ... that's my vote.

Unless I put in the wrong specs, there is no Fram Ultra, there is a P1 PL25274. I would usually go with a P1 but would check out the AC Delco in this case too. And make sure whoever is changing has the right socket for the oil filter cap

.

As for the oil dexos1 is at least a syn blend. I'd just go with PP, Quaker State Ultimate Durability, or M1, whatever is on sale.

I'd try the Pennzoil Dexos syn blend, they may call it "Gold". It's only 2 bucks more than regular Pennzoil conventional, Dexos 1, and at least 50% synthetic. Bargain.
