My experiences with nearly every other turbocharged gasoline engine show me that even if it is changed every 3000 miles, conventional oil will always leave heavy varnish in a turbo gasoline engine.

I drained the FF very early (1200 miles) in my car because of this fear. [/quote]

I have seen an Evo8 and 9 that have over 80k miles racked up, using only Pennzoil Conventional 5w30. The engines torn down, one for cam upgrades and the other for timing belt. Both extremely clean, including the turbo. I have also seen synthetic run cars with varnish issues in engine and turbo. Everyone uses their car differently. No one will argue that synthetics are not a superior extended drain lube but conventionals more than hold their own at 3750 mile oci. I would stick with a good conventional unless poor UOA results are shown.
