O.K. the wife's new Yukon (5.3 V8) came with a AC Delco PF48 which stayed on for the five miles before the first oil change. Then came a couple of Super Tech ST10060 and finally a Pureone PL12222. The queston is, is there a slightly longer filter that will work in this application. I am using Mobil 1 10w30 with a 5,000 miles oil and filter change interval if this makes any difference.

Pl25288 specs:
Type of Filter: Spin-on
Thread Pitch: UN-2B
Relief Valve P.S.I.: None
O.D.: 2.98
Threads: 13/16-16
Height: 4.02
Anti-Drain Back Valve: Yes

Ll2222 Specs:
Threads: M22x1.5
Anti-Drain Back Valve: Yes
Type of Filter: Spin-on
Height: 3.34
Thread Pitch: (Special)
Relief Valve P.S.I.: 12-15
O.D.: 2.95

So, no, they do not appear to be interchangeable.
