I've experienced no smooth pavement howl/sing with any of the tires installed. Just a firm sporty ride. I can see where a cheap or poor set of tires like the Primewells would make for a poor/noisy ride though. The MXV4's work quite nicely on the 3.0.L, smooth quiet ride.

I still have the original sales brochure for the 07 Accords. It mentions nothing extra insulation in the EXL trim. fyi, the 4 cylinder did also come as EX-L.

As for the timing belt/water pump, went ~110k/7-8 years on the Civic, whatever the manual said. Plan on doing the same with the with the Accord.

The timing belt time interval is 7 years. Our '05 MDX has less than 70k miles on it, but I plan to change the timing belt on it next spring.

I did actually find an EX-L 4-cylinder online last night. It was nowhere near me, but on eBay or something. It looks to be very rare. I'd be interested in looking at one if I could find one.

I plan to drive one '08 or '09 today, just to satisfy myself that that's not what I'm looking for, then hopefully drive a few cloth-clad '07s, again, just to satisfy myself that that's not what I'm looking for. I think I want a leather-clad '07 (or '06), but I need to feel certain first.

I think my interest has moved to a CR-V. That 2007 Accord I drove was "nice", but it just didn't click with me. My wife suggested I look at a small SUV, since I said before I'd love to trade cars with her and drive her MDX. So I checked out a CR-V at the local Honda store. It was a 2007 EX-L that I drove and I loved it. Really loved it. The interior is put together like a swiss watch. The K24Z1 engine seemed nice and tight, the transmission upshifted and downshifted smoothly. The ride was a perfect blend of comfort and handling for me. Plus I can put my bike in the back, or a lawn mower, or the dog, with no problem. I got that feeling at first reaction, "yeah, this is my car".

I think maybe one of my problems is I'm tired of driving sedans.

But that '07 I drove had a sticker of $19,995, 82k miles, and "it's pretty priced out, we could come down maybe a couple hundred." So I'm going to look at a 2008 EX-L today in Mystic Green. Half the miles, certified, and for less than $1,000 more. If they give me fair trade for my Camry, this '08 will be mine today.

They seem to be really good cars I know a few people with them. IMHO the 4 banger is the motor to get, it has plenty of power for that kind of car.

One thing I hear people complain about who own them are the brakes, they seem to have weak front brakes that often warp. Probably not to big of a deal brakes are cheap but still a PITA.

My wife and I got a 2006 Accord EX-L sedan with the 4 cylinder and stick shift about a year and a half ago. This is a very tough combination to come by. Probably saw 30 EX-L 4 cylinders with the automatic for sale before the stick versions showed up. We were patient and it was worth the wait. The auto just sucks the fun out.

It's a very nice car, drives great. She actually prefers it over our 2003 Saab 9-5 Aero and while I don't agree with her I'm willing to admit that it has a much nicer shifting transmission and lighter steering, both of which appeal to her.

Bought it with 21k miles, now has 50k. I had to replace a coolant temperature sensor but otherwise it's been flawless.
