I have a 2004 Honda Odyssey 3.5L V-6. I have been using 5W-30 Mobil 1. Would there be any problem using Esso XD-3 0W-30? It readily available here in Canada and costs less than Mobil 1. It is advertised as a heavy duty diesel oil but the Esso documentation mentions it can also be used in gasoline engines.

No worries at all, it might even be a better choice than the 5W-30 M1 for your vigorous Canadian winter mornings!

What Pablo said, especially in Canada. You are the perfect choice for Amsoil 0w-20. Pour Point of -65F. Mobil's 0w-20 was downgraded to -54F.

This summer, I'm going to try M1 0w-40 in my '00 Odyssey before pulling a camper trailer to Algonquin Park. My Thinking is that with the extra work the van has to do pulling the trailer, it will need the extra viscosity protection. Currently, I have M1 5W-30 in it. I'll see if the 0W-40 makes the engine sound quieter at all.
