The Toyota filter I ran nearly that far looked it could've, too. That is, structurally like new, and very little of anything visible was caught in it. Currently running a Tough Guard which hasn't been that far yet.

After talking to the Jay (Fram Guy on here) I'm switching from my Amsoil EA filter to a Fram Ultra as soon as my Amsoil ones are gone. The Ultra offers slightly better filtration rating and it's $7 cheaper per filter here. That makes it a no brainer for me.

Before Honda started using their MM, the spec OCI was 10k, but only changing the oil filter every *other* OCI, which would mean only changing the oil filter every 20k. Even now that Honda has the MM, it can still sometimes suggest an OCI over 10k, and again, only change the filter every other OCI, meaning the filter could be in there over 20k.

The OEM Honda oil filter is a Fram PH7317. So if the orange can can do 20k, then an Ultra can certainly do 20k with no problem.

That said, I still agree with you on not going that long, but that doesn't mean the filter isn't capable

^^^^^^°

True. Those filters are built extremely well. And have become the high standard bearer for very long run filters.

Member Clevy routinely went 20k miles on TG filters with them being up for the task.

You were out of town for one week and you missed the discussion of an oil filter that has been out for many many years now?

Fram should sell these filters here in UK and europe where cars always do long oil change intervals

No thanks , but I am not doing it .

Wyr
God bless

20,000 miles on a filter? Big deal, there is just not that much dirt to clog a cars oil filter.
