I'm confused. Went to order some Baldwin B2 (FL1A equivalent), and I am seeing two different sized filters both called Baldwin "B2". One looks like the traditional 1 qt. FL1A sized filter, and the other looks longer, possibly 2 qts.

If you google "Baldwin B2 oil filter" and then click the "Shopping" link at the top of the google page, you will see immediately what I am talking about.

This makes it confusing what you're going to get if you order online. For example, I am almost positive that I've gotten the regular 1 qt. size B2 at Grainger in the past, but now it looks like they only have the longer version available.

Anyone know why Baldwin would label 2 different filters with the same number? Or is something else going on here?

I can't tell if there is a size difference ... I didn't see any dimensions called out on any of the "shopping" links. How are you concluding that there are two different sizes?

Did find this info:

There is a Baldwin B2 and a Baldwin B2 HPG but I think they are the same size except the HPG filters down a lot more than the regular B2.

These two links show something that looks much larger...

Can't go on "looks" of a photo ... need real dimensions to know what's going on.

Also, those photos do NOT have the model number on them. Many times vendors use a generic photo to "represent" the product.

Napa has two sizes of FL1A filters too. There is another manufacturer or two that makes a larger size FL1A filters. On the Ford site they frequently talk about them... (the larger FL1A filters).
