Greetings! Been watching a lot on this forum, been learning a lot of information over the years....now it's high time I join to ask a question I can't seem to find the answer to!

I own a cherry 1990 Ford Probe with the 3.0 OHV Vulcan engine.

Rockauto calls for AGSF32N nickle and AGSF32PM platinum...which are the same as the updated 3.0 Vulcan (+94). Yet the updated Vulcan has a finewire option of AGSF32FM.

I'd honestly like to run the finewire, along with specific other ignition components.

Any thoughts on why I could or couldn't run those finewire plugs?

Thanks for the help!

You're only as old as you feel!

This Probe runs a distributor. The finewire just reviews as a better quality plug that needs less energy to fire. Which sounds perfect for my needs.

I had a '91 back in high school (94-98). Other than the royal POS auto trans that failed, that car was a rocket with the 3.0 in it. I had the Monza cat back exhaust on it, put on an Accel Coil, and fabbed a cold air intake after removing the airbox silencer from the fender well. Car was incredible and tons of room in that hatch too.

I'd stick with original design. I've had issues for years with our Focus mis-firing and only after I put the autolite equivalent original design did it clear up. The motorcraft switched to fine wire only. I need to check the Escapes also since since it feels like it's running the same and I can't remember what I just put in it. It's amusing how everyone screams stick to oem plugs but changing designs is ok.

I'm going a catback soon! Truebendz has a mandrel kit available for the car. Was going go run 2.5" stainless to a dual tip exhaust. Sticking to a "muscle car" vibe with this one. My 626 is the fun car with purple calipers and wheel nuts lol.

Mine is automatic tho. I'll be keeping a close eye on it (have been since I got it 🤣)

The AGSF32FM are a Motorcraft plug. So you think it's ok to run a finewire when there's a platinum option? I'd be hesitant if there was only nickle.

Thanks everyone!!

Those cars are awesome! I love the red interior and digital dash, and yours looks so clean

For a transverse V6, iridium is a MUST! That way you'll never have to do them again! Get NGK Laser Iridium or Denso Iridium TT
Pair them with NGK wires. Part #52251 (Rock Auto doesn't seem to have them in stock, but you can get them elsewhere)

Thank you! Car only has 32k miles on it. The plugs aren't awful to get at on this car. I believe it currently has nickle plugs...which my manual says they need changing at 30k ...‘

The Probe is a cool looking throw back. Nice pics.
I was at a Ford Dealer around '97 to 99 and didn't know much about the Probe. Seen a few through the shop for services or maint / lof etc.... Glad to see it's appreciated and held to some esteem.
I was in commercial / fleet / internet sales and stayed busy enough with Power Stroke fever at the time, only sold and dealt with a few cars by accident. Now I wish I got my hands on one to drive and get to know.
That Mustang was nice through the years but never fit me. I could never get the seat and ergos feeling right. I was about 6' and 150# so it was an oddity.
