Changed out sparkplugs in Ford Vulcan V-6

The 3.0 Vulcan had decent torque in the lower rpm range. The Ranger had the Pinto 2.3 engine for years. They the started putting the Duratech 2.3 around 2000 IIRC.

On the subject of plugs. I bought a 2012 F150 with 3.7 duratech. Had 207,000 miles. I got on the motor one day, and reved it up. The engine light came on, then starting flashing after that. I pulled the plug that triggered the code on the driver bank. Holy cow. It had a huge gap. So time to do the plugs. I pulled the intake to do the plugs on the passenger side.

I was thinking huh, all the coils were newer Denso on the passenger side, with newer Motorcraft spark plugs. . Passenger side had original Motorcraft coils, and plugs that probably had 80,000 miles on them. So I replaced all the plugs with Motorcraft Double platinums SP520AX. I also took the newer Denso coils and put them on the driver side. I installed new Motorcraft coils under the passenger intake.

Anybody have experience with the Motorcraft SP520AX on plug life in the Duratech V-6?

Didn't know Iridiums were possible on a 3.0 Vulcan. I have a 2008 Ranger with the 3.0 and have only ever replaced with standard copper (Motorcraft SP413) every 50,000 kms. This is the only plug referenced in the manual. I keep a pretty detailed service log and in the last 4 spark plug changes, only once has the gap exceeded the OE range slightly.

Yes, the manual is 17 years oil. Have a look at what Rock Auto offers for your vehicle. :)
