It is! Somehow, my brain completely shut down and missed that rather important aspect.

I don't know why, but I went straight to "omg, some old person is selling their dead spouses car and can't even begin to understand."

Cool enough and close enough to the real thing for me, for the price. But I stopped coveting these cars a while ago when I found that I can't fit in one of these cars. They're made for small people.

One of the shops I sell to does a fair amount of older Vettes. The owner is currently doing 2 no budget ground up restos on '53s. You go in their shop and the waiting room has all the Hot Rod, PHR, Car Craft, etc covers they have been on.

Though I'm the tallest of my clan in generations, at a measily 5' 11", I fit in most cars. It's my work pants I no longer fit in

How does it compare mechanically and in the details compared to the real deal? I don't know anything about kit cars.

I just did a basic search on Corvette kit cars and it looks like they take a C1 body and put it on a C4 frame. So this one might be one of those, pretty cool for what it is.

If the engine makes any power at all.....Those (1st gen Coevette's) are a HANDFULL, As in Both Hands!

Yup, powerslide behind the mighty "Blue Flame" six. Almost got the axe right then.

The original 1953 model came with a straight six - no V8 option, either. That would have been my first clue if I didn't see "kit."

Seems pricey for a kit car (well, to me anyhow). But kinda cool just the same. Always wondered about doing a kit car. No rust to deal with (potentially, depends upon the donor chassis), no restoration, just buy parts from the catalog to build. Since it would likely never be fast, buy a lo-po SBC drivetrain and putt around in it.

The original '53 wasn't fast. That's not the point of a traditional sports car. It was only 150 HP (based upon that period's measurement system) and 0-60 time is listed as 11 seconds. The first Vettes competed with a very different set of cars than the later ones.

How come you can't fit into them any longer?
